When is the best time to remodel?

When is the best time to remodel?

Winter, spring, summer or fall? All you have to do is call.

Did you sing that too? I did. “What is the best time of year to remodel my home?” our customers wonder. Our answer? It depends…

1) The Weather Factor

Don’t replace your roof in the dead of winter. Don’t paint your siding during rainy season (unless you like the dalmatian look). But in this part of the country, wet weather is unavoidable. Rain and snow seem to show up during the most random times, don’t they? But don’t let it rain on your parade. Contractors are used to weather changes, it’s nothing they haven’t worked around. Keep calm and build on.

2) Good Things Are Worth Waiting For

Depending on the size of the project, your timeline for completion could be 2 weeks to 2 years. A lot of this depends on the planning process. But great things take time and allowing enough time to complete your project will make the transformation process more enjoyable. Plus, we are your full-service design partner – here to make sure your project is completed on time and on budget.

2) Supply & Demand

Supply and demand is one of the main factors in how much we pay for just about everything. As Halloween decorations are 75% off on November 1st, building materials prices fluctuate depending on the time of year as well. Allowing yourself some flexibility may save you some money in the end.

3) Rush Hour

Have you sat through heavy traffic at 5:15 on Friday night? You’re well aware that there are certain times of the day when traffic seems to flow a little better. The building industry is no different. With some early planning and a little flexibility, you will be able to get your project going during a better time, away from the chaos. In turn, your contractor will work more efficiently and you may finish earlier than expected.

When you are ready to go, we are ready to help. Our employees are the “best of the best” in the industry – they are literally your “Dream (Homes) Come True” makers. With careful planning and a little help from the folks at Spahn & Rose, you will be more satisfied with the results in the end any time of the year – we promise!

And we’ll be there. You’ve got a friend… (still singing!)
