Jacobsen Receives March Going Above & Beyond Award

When Chris Jacobsen makes deliveries as a driver for Spahn & Rose’s Jesup, Iowa, location, he’s an essential, primary point of contact with customers. With every drop-off, he strives to provide excellent customer service.

“I like to get to know customers and joke around,” he says. “I try to make sure the customer has everything with the delivery, and before taking off I’ll help make sure the materials are set up where the customer needs.”

Such outstanding attention to service has earned Jacobsen the March 2018 Above & Beyond Award, which comes with a $100 Spahn & Rose gift card.

“It’s great to be recognized and nice to know my work is noticed,” says Jacobsen, who has been with Spahn & Rose for more than 14 years, having worked at the Independence store before moving to the Jesup location, where he also works in the yard. In his downtime, he likes to tinker with vintage cars and has restored a 1968 Dodge Coronet. He’s a Hawkeye football fan, too, attending five or six games every year.

“Chris provides our customers with excellent service and is always one of the first employees at work in the morning and one of the last to leave at night,” says Spahn & Rose CEO Dave Davis. “Congratulations to Chris. Well deserved!”

When customers submit a review, employees mentioned therein are nominated for the Above & Beyond Award. Employees who earn the award receive a plaque honoring their achievements and a $100 Spahn & Rose gift card.
