Kaitlyn Ransford, Purchasing Assistant in the General Office, thrives on challenging projects. A recent massive data-integration job with a tight deadline certainly qualified—and her stellar work on the project earned her the February/March Above & Beyond Award.
“During this time of uncertainty, Spahn & Rose has been blessed to have so many employees step up and go above and beyond to serve their customers and communities,” says Spahn & Rose CEO Dave Davis. “This award is a testament to all the hard work and loyalty numerous employees have shown at every one of our locations.”
After Reinbeck, Iowa, Spahn & Rose location (a new facility that was a result of the acquisition) would be up and running.
“Kaitlyn was instrumental in the completion of the M&W transition. She was willing to take on any task and thrived on the challenge,” says Jeff Boll, Senior Director of IT. “Overall, Kaitlyn was a tremendous contribution to a successful transition.”
Ransford’s savvy with Microsoft Excel paid off in particular, ensuring that she knew how to use functions and understood how to do data conversions within the program.
“The most important part of working through this conversion was communication,” says Ransford, who has been a Spahn & Rose employee since December 2019. “Making sure everyone understands, listens and communicates within the team allowed us to make this conversion on time.”
One of Ransford’s favorite things about working at Spahn & Rose is its small-town, family atmosphere. “The company has a family feel, like it’s a community,” she says. “Everyone checks in on and engages each other. You can tell we really care about each other.”
In her off time, Ransford enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends, family and her cat. She also loves cooking; her favorite dish is chicken in spicy Alfredo sauce.
Spahn & Rose employees can be nominated for the monthly Above & Beyond Award by coworkers, supervisors and customers. When a customer, any employees mentioned are nominated for the honor. Customers can also nominate employees for Above & Beyond through Spahn & Rose’s social-media channels, including Instagram, Twitter.
Recipients of the Above & Beyond Award receive a $100 Visa gift card and a plaque honoring their achievements. In addition, each Above & Beyond winner becomes a candidate for the company’s Employee of the Year Award.
