Sullivan Receives Above & Beyond Award

As the Epicor Trainer and Accounts Receivable Clerk in the General Office in Dubuque, Tonya Sullivan believes that providing high-quality service creates trust and friendship, and keeps customers coming back.

Sullivan began working at Spahn & Rose in 1997 as a high-school junior. Across the ensuing two decades, she has continuously strived for excellence.

“I truly enjoy the people I work with and talk to every single day,” Sullivan says. “I love a good challenge, and when my phone rings, I know I’ll be challenged.”

Jim Wilson, Assistant Manager of the Spahn & Rose store in Newton, Iowa, nominated Sullivan for the Above & Beyond award—presented each month to an employee who excels at customer service—after she helped resolve a problem with a customer’s account.

“Tonya is always very pleasant and goes out of her way to make sure you’re taken care of,” Wilson says. “She is a special person to work with, thanks to that kind of help.”

As Spahn & Rose’s Epicor Trainer, Sullivan also frequently travels among the company’s 24 locations to work with new employees. “I enjoy the traveling, because it allows me to meet all those I regularly talk with on the phone,” she says.

Sullivan has three children—ages 10, 8 and 4—and has been married to her husband, John, for 12 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially in the summer, when they grill out almost every day and take walks in the woods to look for deer.

Spahn & Rose CEO Dave Davis says Sullivan’s award is well-deserved: “We think the world of Tonya and the job she does here at the General Office.”

When customers submit a review, employees mentioned are nominated for the Above & Beyond award. Employees earning the award receive a plaque honoring their achievements and a $100 Spahn & Rose gift card.
